Notice of Nondiscrimination Policies
The Anchor School is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable educational environment. We do not discriminate in any of our employment practices, academic programs, services, or activities based on race, color, religion, sex, citizenship, ethnic or national origin, age, disability, medical status, military status, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, ancestry, or any other legally protected status. The prohibition against discrimination applies to all students, employees, Board members, and school community members, including affiliates, invitees, and guests.
Equal Opportunity and Access
The Anchor School provides equal access to all individuals and groups, including youth groups and other designated organizations.
Legal Compliance
The Anchor School adheres to Federal and State laws prohibiting discrimination in educational programs and employment practices, including but not limited to the following:
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 – Prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 – Prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 – Prohibits discrimination based on disability.
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title I & II) – Prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities.
Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 – Prohibits discrimination based on age in employment.
Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 – Prohibits discrimination based on genetic information.
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) – Ensures educational rights for students with disabilities.
Anti-Harassment and Discipline
The Anchor School prohibits discriminatory harassment of any kind. Any act of discrimination or harassment will result in prompt and appropriate disciplinary action, including termination of employment or suspension/expulsion for students. The Anchor School takes these matters seriously and is committed to addressing any incidents of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.
